Dear Voluntary Observing Ship Participants:
On behalf of National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) National Weather Service (NWS), thank you for your active participation in the Voluntary Observing Ship (VOS) program. Your efforts benefit all mariners and contribute to understanding of weather and climate across the marine environment.
Turbowin was adopted as the standard observations logging and encoding software for the VOS program by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administrator, Deputy Assistant Administrator for Weather Service on November 13, 2014. Click here to view PDF
Since then many upgrades have been made to the software improving the observers experience making the process more accurate and efficient. The Turbowin software enables your observations to be integrated into global weather prediction models.
Below are the links to the TurboWin software for both 64 and 32 bit versions, supporting software and manuals. This software has been improved for the users that make manual entries and now has the ability for hybrid solution combining an auto-send scheduler with the Turbowin software. Your contributions will help to improvements marine weather forecasting capabilities.
Thank you for you collaboration with the NWS VOS program and please keep in contact with your NWS Port Meteorological Officer (PMO). Please reach out to your PMO if you have any questions.
